Comune di Staiti

Formerly a hamlet of Brancaleone, Staiti is a 16th-century architectural gem, a masterpiece of urbanism towering 500 metres above sea level near the Southernmost boundary of the Aspromonte National Park. Its location beside Rocca Giambatore ensures a wonderful view on the wide valley where the torrent of Bruzzano flows.
The most important monument in Staiti is the Basilian Church of Saint Mary of Tridetti, an 11th-century Byzantine-Norman structure which has been proclaimed a national monument.
Musically speaking, the traditional town band has been kept alive in this village by generations of keen young people over a time span of about one century.
